Why DIY Planning from Social Media Falls Short...
Hello Family, Michael here...
The other day, I was scrolling through social media and came across a post from a parent of a special needs child.
They shared how they were planning for their family’s future: a Special Needs Trust, some savings, and a bit of investment advice they picked up online.
At first, it sounded good. But as I read the comments, I couldn’t help but think: What about the hard questions?
💠What happens if something unexpected occurs?
💠What happens if the savings run out?
💠What if the market takes a hit?
💠And most importantly, what happens if something happens to YOU?
Social media often makes solutions look simple. But families like ours know better.
The truth is, planning for your child’s future is too important to DIY.
Trusts, savings, and investments are essential. But they’re just pieces of the puzzle.
Without the right strategy to tie them all together, gaps can form, gaps that could put your family’s future at risk.
Here’s another truth: While these vehicles are great, they can fluctuate with the market.
As parents, we need to feel confident in our decisions. Incorporating something predictable and non-market-correlated is a smart way to complement the plans you already have.
Have you had the hard conversations yet?
💠How confident are you with your current strategy?
💠What’s your plan if you’re not around or even if you’re temporarily set back due to injury or illness?
It’s all of about the What If's
