- You have professionals. You don't have a team.
You have professionals. You don't have a team.
There's a difference.

God is good! And He didn't design us to do this alone.
Hey Fam,
Last week I had the privilege of presenting at The Company of Dads virtual event.
It was an amazing experience, I got to share something I love talking about, but most families don't. Or aren't in a hurry to.
Planning for our families' futures.
And there was ONE slide that, for me, is one of the most vital.
It looked like this:

On the left: a parent getting hit from all directions. Estate attorney. Therapists. Teachers. Insurance pro. Tax planner. Case manager. Everyone handing you something. No one talking to each other.
On the right: the same professionals, but connected. Coordinated. And you? You're in the middle.
You're the Quarterback.
Here's what I've learned over time:
Most families have professionals. They have an attorney over here. A therapist over there. Maybe an accountant. Maybe a financial advisor.
But everything lives in silos.
The attorney doesn't know what the insurance pro set up. Your emergency contact doesn't know the child's therapist. The tax planner has no idea there's an ABLE account.
And you? You're running between all of them, trying to hold the pieces together, without anyone helping you see the full picture.
That's not a team. That's chaos with business cards.
No single professional can do it all.
They each know their lane. But they need to talk to each other.
And someone has to make that happen.
That someone is you.
I know what you're thinking: "I'm not qualified to lead this."
Yes, you are.
You don't need to know the tax code. You don't need a law degree. You need to know your family, and you do.
Your job isn't to have all the answers. Your job is to make sure the people who DO have answers are working together.
That's the mindset shift.
You're not just a parent collecting paperwork. You're the Quarterback calling the plays.
Here's what a connected team looks like:
Estate Attorney — sets up the trust and legal documents
Insurance Pro — protects income, funds the trust, fills the gaps
Tax Planner — makes sure you're not leaving money on the table
Therapists & Teachers — know your child's daily needs
Case Manager — navigates benefits and services
Parent Coach or Advocate — helps you stay sane
And at the center? You. Making sure they're all moving in the same direction.
If you're reading this thinking "I don't have a team like that", you're not alone.
Most families don't.
But you can start building one.

If you want help putting the pieces together:
Let's map out who you have, who's missing, and how to get everyone on the same page.
You don't have to do this alone. But you do have to lead it.
if you want help putting the pieces together.
You've got this.
P.S. Next week: The emotional side of asking for help. Why it's so hard, and what to do about it.
Verse of the Week:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up."
— Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)
