What I noticed at the farmer’s market last weekend
The conversations weren’t about therapy or school. They were deeper.

Verse of the Week:
“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety."
— Proverbs 11:14 (KJV)
Last weekend, we set up a small table at a local farmer’s market.
Nothing big.
A simple tablecloth. Some markers for the kids. A few conversations here and there.
But something about it stayed with me.
People walked by, some stopped, some didn’t. A few asked questions. A few just smiled. And a few shared their own stories, quietly, almost like they had been holding it in for a while.
And it reminded me of something most families don’t hear enough.
This journey isn’t built in big moments.
It’s built in small ones.
Showing up. Even when you’re tired.
Having conversations. Even when you’re not sure what to say.
Taking one step. Even when the full picture isn’t clear yet.
That’s where everything starts.
Because behind every conversation we had that day…
there was a parent trying to make sense of things.
Not just therapies.
Not just school.
But the bigger questions.
The kind that don’t always come out right away.
What happens if something happens to me?
Who would step in?
Would they understand my child the way I do?
And the truth is…
most parents aren’t even sure what those answers are supposed to look like.
Not because they don’t care.
Because no one has ever really shown them how all of this connects.
That’s why we recently sat down with an estate planning attorney to walk through this in a simple way, not just documents, but roles, decisions, and how everything fits together.

But this weekend reminded me of something simple.
It’s not confusion that holds families back.
It’s where to begin.
Because when everything feels important…
nothing gets started.
So it gets pushed.
Later. Next month. When things settle down.
But this isn’t something one decision solves.
It’s not one conversation.
It’s not one professional.
It’s not one strategy.
It’s pieces.
And most families have never seen how those pieces fit together.
That’s where clarity starts.
Not by solving everything at once…
but by finally seeing the full picture.
That’s why we built the hub.
Not as the answer.
Just as one place to start understanding how this part fits into everything else.
Talk soon,
Michael
P.S. A few parents this weekend simply said, “We haven’t started yet.” If that’s you, you’re not behind. You’re just getting started.
